Job summary

Electric Power Systems (EPS) is seeking a Field Technician II to perform testing, inspection, and maintenance of substation equipment with increasing independence in safety-driven environments.

You will work with engineers and senior technicians, troubleshoot issues from schematics, and document work accurately per project requirements. A strong emphasis on safety, quality, and professional growth through certifications and training is expected.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Requires satisfactory criminal background check.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel out of town.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety policies and use PPE in substation environments.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard mitigation.
• Test high/medium/low voltage equipment with limited supervision.
• Inspect and maintain circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Troubleshoot from schematics and manuals; escalate complex issues.
• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on electrical components.
• Execute functional checks and assist commissioning activities.
• Document testing, maintenance, and repairs accurately.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior technicians to complete field work.
