Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Substation Physical Engineering Manager to lead and grow an engineering team while shaping technical strategy. This role blends people leadership with hands-on engineering oversight across substation projects and client engagements.

You will partner with the Engineering Director, manage budgets and schedules, review timesheets, ensure QA/QC compliance, and foster senior-level relationships with clients and stakeholders to deliver results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil) from ABET-accredited school.
• Minimum 5 years in management within the energy sector.
• Experience in Utility Substation engineering.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering supervision and leadership for substation projects.
• Coordinate with Engineering Director and client stakeholders.
• Review time sheets and expense statements; manage project costs.
• Develop trusted relationships with senior level engineering, managers, and executives with clients.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are followed across design packages.
