Qualus is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to drive HV substation design, mentor junior engineers, and lead cross-functional teams from concept to construction. You will ensure code compliance, develop innovative solutions, and maintain high standards of safety and reliability on complex utility projects.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, client interaction, and collaboration across disciplines to deliver excellent engineering outcomes for critical infrastructure.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in an engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of high-voltage substations and related systems.
• Prepare equipment specifications, BOMs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and review calculations and drawings.
• Ensure QA/QC across design packages.
