Job summary

WSP USA invites motivated students to join the Summer Internship Program as a Full‑Time Electrical Engineering (Substation) Intern in the United States. The role emphasizes hands-on work, exposure to real projects, and mentorship through the Developing Professionals Network.

The internship runs for 12 weeks starting May 17, 2027, with locations including Freeport, ME and Foxboro, MA. Candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Electrical Engineering program.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering program with anticipated graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and desire to advance skills for WSP projects.
• Competent communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of following leadership direction and collaborating with mentors.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations/analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
