WSP USA invites motivated engineering students to join the Summer Internship Program as a Full-Time Electrical Engineering (Substation) Intern, working from our Freeport, ME office, with Foxboro, MA also considered. The 12-week program begins May 17, 2027, offering hands-on work, mentorship, and exposure to real projects while collaborating with senior staff.

Interns develop technical, social, and ethical skills in power delivery.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in accredited Electrical Engineering program with graduation Aug 2027 or later.
• Must be 18+ and authorized to work in the United States.
• Interested in Electrical Engineering and eager to learn.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Able to take direction from mentors and managers.
• Proficient with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and general tools.
• Committed to workplace safety and company policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical, social, and ethical skills through engineering tasks.
• Learn basic electrical engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as required.
