Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Full-Time Electrical Engineering (Substations) Intern to join our Lake Oswego, OR office for a 12-week summer internship beginning May 17, 2027. The role is for students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs, offering hands-on experience with senior staff.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering undergraduate program with an anticipated graduation date August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Electrical Engineering and desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work.
• Interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from mentors and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Uphold workplace safety and comply with company policies.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical, social, and ethical skills through engineering tasks.
• Learn basic principles of Electrical Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Assist in preparing final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and policies; perform additional responsibilities as required.
