Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer to contribute to the design of high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems. You will collaborate with project teams, prepare equipment specifications, and coordinate with clients and vendors.

The role offers a hybrid arrangement—three days in the office and two remote days—with potential travel for reviews and construction coordination. Relocation assistance is available based on location.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree with strong preference in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering, and/or coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, and experience using agentic AI.
Understanding of practical application of electrical engineering and technology in project design.
Knowledge of design techniques for technical plans, blueprints, and 3D visualization.
Proficiency with MS Office applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Work on project teams with other engineers on the design of high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
Involved in power transmission designs and preparation of specifications for major electrical equipment procurement and installation services.
Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and site locations for construction coordination and field verification.
