Job summary

Dashiell Corporation, a unit of Quanta Services, seeks a Substation Engineer in Dallas with 3+ years in substation design. You will design high voltage substations from 34.5kV to 500kV, prepare drawings, and perform protective-relay tasks with supervision.

Travel to project sites and training will be required. Responsibilities include applying NEC/NESC/IEEE/ANSI standards, coordinating with project team, and delivering accurate design documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
• 3+ years in substation engineering design; more senior levels 7+ years.
• Licensed professional engineer with multi-state licensure potential or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Create design documents and drawings for projects, including wiring diagrams and BOMs.
• Perform relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short-circuit calculations with supervision.
• Apply engineering software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and studies.
• Review project schedules and coordinate with project engineers to stay on track.
• Follow NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards in all designs.
• Travel for site visits and training as required.
