Job summary

Ulteig seeks a qualified Design Civil/Structural Engineer to support Renewables/Utility/Power projects in North America. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing design work for foundations, structural steel, and grading plans with field and office tasks.

You will use standard engineering methods and collaborate with technicians and senior engineers to ensure quality and client satisfaction. The position requires a Civil/Structural ABET-accredited degree, 2+ years of experience,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil and/or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
• Engineering in Training (EIT) registration or obtain within 6 months required.
• Knowledge of electrical utility substation layout and design preferred.
• Understanding of structural steel, drilled pier & spread footing design and detailing required, grading design preferred.
• Experience using MathCAD, STAAD or equivalent, foundation design programs, and/or other structural modeling software preferred.
• Knowledge of, AISC, and ACI required, ASCE & NESC preferred.
• Basic understanding of AutoCADD and/or MicroStation preferred.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
• Up to 15% travel required.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.

Responsibilities

• Applies current, standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to complete engineering tasks.
• Develops plans, specifications, and observation reports to ensure items are complete and accurate.
• Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality.
• Works closely with engineering technicians and experienced engineers.
• May work in the office or in the field.
• Coordinates specific design aspects of a project.
• Performs detailed engineering design and evaluations within specialty.
• Prepare reports and correspondence concerning direction of assigned projects.
