Job summary

Avangrid in Portland, OR is seeking a CAD Operator to manage the engineering drawings library in SharePoint, enforce document control, and assist with arc flash studies and other substation engineering tasks.

You will update drawings in CAD for wind plants, manage records, support NEC/IEEE standards, and participate in project meetings. An Associate degree is required, with 0–5 years of CAD experience expected; higher experience may lead to senior roles.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 2-year equivalent in CAD/engineering tech or related field.
• No experience required, but pay and title depend on experience.
• Ability to modify drawings and prepare redlines for 2D CAD updates.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office; SharePoint experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Update drawings for substation, wind plants, and related electrical systems in CAD.
• Manage records and documentation for drawing modifications.
• Enforce document control and maintain the engineering drawings library in SharePoint.
• Assist with arc flash model reviews and updates.
• Work from redlines, sketches, OEM drawings, or specifications and support design reviews.
