Job summary

Qualus seeks a Drafting Technician to support Substation Engineering and Protection & Control design. You will create and modify drawings in AutoCAD and MicroStation, follow CAD standards, and ensure file organization and quality checks.

You’ll collaborate with engineering teams to support project delivery and provide basic CAD support across multiple tasks. Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree in a related field and 0-3 years of electrical drafting experience, with strong attention to

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related field.
• 0-3 years of experience in electrical drafting.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; MicroStation familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide production CAD support by developing, implementing, and enforcing CAD standards.
• Prepare complete, accurate documents and drawings from engineers' specifications.
• Develop substation physical drawings (electrical plans, elevation, conduit, foundations).
• Develop protection & control drawings (SLDs, wiring, schematics).
• Maintain CAD document archive and project file organization.
• Act as liaison for operations, project teams, and vendors.
• Assist engineer with shop drawing reviews at project close.
