Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group, LLC in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Designer – Substation to support substation design projects across the QISG platform, performing 2D/3D Physical and Protection & Control tasks with CAD proficiency.

Ideal candidates have an associates degree in Drafting & Design, 4+ years in electric utility CAD/design for substations, and experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor or SDS.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design preferred; a 4-year Eng Tech degree is a plus.
• 4+ years of CAD/design experience in electric utilities for high voltage substations.
• Experience with 3D/smart design software: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SDS.
• Strong knowledge of CAD programs and drawing practices for substations.
• Good written/spoken communication and ability to work in a team.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks with priorities.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects across the QISG platform.
• Perform routine 2D/3D Physical and/or P&C design tasks with CAD.
• Develop and maintain high-quality drawing packages for internal and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams under leadership of Lead Designer.
• Travel out of town for short periods as required by projects.
