Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Solutions Group seeks a Designer – Substation to support design projects across the QISG platform. You will perform routine 2D/3D Physical and/or Protection & Control design tasks with CAD proficiency, under a Lead Designer, collaborating with engineers to produce client-ready drawings.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in electric utility CAD/design for substations and strong knowledge of SDS, Inventor and AutoCAD tools. Some travel is required to support projects.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Drafting & Design or equivalent; Eng Tech degree is a plus.
• Minimum 4 years in electric utility CAD/design for high‑voltage substations.
• Experience with 3D and smart design software is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support substation design projects with 2D/3D Physical and P&C tasks.
• Develop and maintain quality drawing packages for internal and client deliverables.
• Collaborate with engineers and drafting teams under a Lead Designer.
• Travel for short periods to support projects as required.
• Ensure adherence to standards and quality control procedures.
