Job summary

Strategic Government Resources, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee the protection, automation, and SCADA systems for electric distribution. You will ensure reliability, proper relay coordination, and integration of IEDs within substations.

You will mentor SCADA analysts and technicians, coordinate maintenance and commissioning, and guide system upgrades while adhering to safety and policy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Six years of experience in electric distribution protection/automation/SCADA, with lead or supervisory roles.
• Education substitution allowed: +30 sem hrs for 1 year, up to 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation automation and protection personnel with clear direction.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance, testing, and commissioning of relays and IEDs.
• Support 24/7 reliability of protection and control systems.
• Oversee relay settings, SCADA mapping, and device integration.
• Provide guidance on protection schemes and system upgrades.
• Coordinate with engineering, field operations, and OT to implement enhancements.
• Lead technical discussions on protection/automation issues.
• Maintain standards, drawings, and procedures for testing and configuration.
• Ensure accuracy of relay databases and system documentation.
• Support capital projects and new substation installations.
• Assist with field troubleshooting and commissioning.
• Manage vendor/consultant relationships and budgets.
• Provide training and mentorship to SCADA analysts and technicians.
• Ensure safety, appropriate codes, and cybersecurity practices.
