Job summary

AES is hiring a capable Electrical Engineer to advance protection and control systems across transmission and distribution networks. The role emphasizes relay settings, SCADA configurations, and coordinating with field teams to ensure reliable, safe operation.

Candidates should have a BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 2–5 years in related engineering roles, with 2–4 years in protective relaying or SCADA. PE license and knowledge of NERC standards are a plus.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from ABET-accredited college/university.
• 2–5 years of progressively responsible engineering experience.
• 2–4 years in Protective Relaying or SCADA for electric utility transmission/distribution and power plants.

Responsibilities

• Perform relay setting calculations and coordination studies.
• Develop RTU/SCADA configurations.
• Evaluate relay performance after system events.
• Oversee commissioning of new SCADA and relay equipment and systems.
• Investigate and resolve protection and control system issues.
• Support field staff in construction and maintenance activities.
• Create or revise substation control schemes and wiring diagrams.
