Job summary

Abraxas Youth & Family Services – Woodridge Interventions in Woodridge, IL is seeking a Counselor II for part-time, regular professional work. The role includes conducting assessments, individual and group counseling, and coordinating care for clients with substance use disorders.

The successful candidate will hold current licensure (LSW/LPC/CADC) and have at least two years of counseling and substance abuse experience. Overtime opportunities may be available to increase earnings.

Qualifications

• Current licensure - LSW, LPC or CADC.
• Two (2) years’ experience working with Substance abuse.
• Two (2) years of counseling experience.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to exercise discretion and use independent judgment in making decisions.
• Ability to promote positive behavior and manage resistant behavior.
• Physical ability to safely and effectively manage aggressive behavior.

Responsibilities

• Complete assessment of each client.
• Initiate and sustain each individual’s motivation to participate in treatment.
• Develop a comprehensive service plan for each client.
• Provide daily treatment and curriculum-based education groups.
