Job summary

Job Description

Front office job description: Seeking a self-motivated, multi-tasking, well organized, and professional student employee who possesses strong verbal and written communication skills to assist in staffing the Honors College office. The student worker will report to the departmental administrative coordinator and complete tasks like data entry, appointment scheduling, office coverage (answer phones, greeting walk-ins), content creation for newsletter and social media, and assisting with HC-related programs or events as needed. May work up to 19 hours per week and must be available Monday, Wednesday and Friday 12 pm-5pm. Additional hours available to work based on student availability. Must be willing to work during fall and spring semesters. Potential for summer hours. Must be familiar with and able to use Outlook mail and Outlook calendar, Microsoft Word and Excel. Participation in Honors College preferred.

Graduate Assistantships

Graduate assistantships offer opportunities to teach, conduct research, or assist in academic departments while continuing your graduate education. To qualify, students must:

  • Be fully admitted to a graduate program (not provisional or non-degree)
  • Be in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Be enrolled in courses each term of the assistantship
  • Meet specific credit hour and subject requirements for teaching or lab roles
  • Non-native English speakers must demonstrate language proficiency
  • Research assistants must complete Responsible Conduct in Research training
  • Work up to 20 hours per week, depending on the appointment
  • May have teaching or research assignments, or provide administrative support
