POSITION DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY: Student Assistant (SA) for the Assistant Vice President of Student Engagement Office will perform the highest level of customer service to visitors. SA will perform administrative duties for the office. SA will be a student employee within the Division of Student Affairs and will be expected to meet the expectation of a high-level administrative office.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • SA will perform administrative duties such as answering the phone, providing information to visitors, preparing and creating resources and materials, and running errands.
  • SA will be trained in the operation of standard office equipment, such as the copier/scanner, paper shredder, etc.
  • SA will also work with special project areas such as enhancing the office environment and other duties as assigned to facilitate the operations of the office.

To qualify, students must: Be fully admitted to a graduate program (not provisional or non-degree) Be in good standing with a minimum 3.0 GPA Be enrolled in courses each term of the assistantship Meet specific credit hour and subject requirements for teaching or lab roles Non-native English speakers must demonstrate language proficiency Research assistants must complete Responsible Conduct in Research training Work up to 20 hours per week, depending on the appointment May have teaching or research assignments, or provide administrative support.
