Job summary

Summit School Services seeks a Bus Assistant to help provide safe and reliable student transportation. You will assist students entering and exiting the bus and ensure proper seating with belts or restraints, while modeling professionalism and comporting yourself respectfully around students and staff.

The role requires strong communication, safety awareness, and the ability to manage student behavior under supervision. Training and safety meetings are part of the onboarding process.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old (19 for certain New York rules).
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
• Must pass training and in-service safety meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Seat students using seat belts or restraints as required.
• Monitor student behavior and report concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain interior cleanliness of the vehicle and handle paperwork timely.
• Present a neat and professional appearance at all times.
