Job summary

Summit School Services is seeking a Bus Assistant to support safe transportation of students. You will help students board and exit the bus, ensure proper use of restraints, and model positive behavior during transit to and from destinations.

The role emphasizes safety, communication with drivers and staff, and maintaining a clean vehicle, with training and ongoing safety meetings provided.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age (19 in NY).
• Must meet physical and medical requirements.
• Must complete and pass training and attend safety meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Seat students using belts, restraints as needed.
• Monitor student behavior and report concerns.
• Provide a positive role model and professional conduct.
• Keep interior clean and assist driver as needed.
