Job summary

Summit School Services is hiring immediately for a Bus Assistant to support bus drivers in moving and caring for students during transport. Training is provided, with a pay rate of $17.13 per hour plus benefits.

Responsibilities include helping students board and exit safely, maintaining order, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The position requires a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to interact well with children and school personnel.

Qualifications

• Must be able to relate to and work well with children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
• High level of professionalism and diplomacy with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus safely.
• Monitor passengers to ensure safety regulations and student conduct rules are followed.
• Seat students safely using belts, car seats, or restraints as needed.
• Serve as a positive role model with good character.
• Report any safety concerns to supervisor.
• Provide general assistance to the bus driver and maintain cleanliness of the vehicle.
