Job summary

Summit School Services seeks a Bus Assistant to support safe student transportation. You will help students board and exit, monitor behavior, and assist the driver while maintaining a neat vehicle and timely paperwork.

The role requires attention to safety, strong communication, and the ability to work with children and school staff; training and safety meetings are provided; equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must meet physical and medical requirements.
• Must complete and pass training and safety meetings to remain qualified.
• Ability to relate to and work well with children.
• Ability to lift and assist students when necessary.
• High level of professionalism and diplomacy when working with students, staff, and parents.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus in a safe manner.
• Seat students safely using restraints and ensure comfort and security.
• Monitor passengers to ensure safety regulations and conduct rules are followed.
• Document and report any violations or concerns to the supervisor or appropriate authority.
• Assist the driver in keeping the interior clean and presentable.
• Complete required paperwork and submit to the appropriate department in a timely manner.
