Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Michigan seeks a LifeWise vehicle driver to provide safe and reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. Ideal candidates are punctual, responsible, and maintain a clean driving record.

Position is part-time and non-exempt, with background checks and yearly physician statements where required. CDL with passenger endorsement may apply for larger vehicles.

Qualifications

• Must maintain a clean driving record with no at-fault accidents in the last 5 years.
• Active personal Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise beliefs.
• Must be an active member of a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Regular driver’s license; CDL with Passenger endorsement for 15+ passenger vehicles.
• CDL required for 15-passenger seating; for 15-passenger vans no special license required.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain the bus cleanliness and mechanical safety.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children: enforce safety rules and assist students.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if agreed with the Director.
