Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Michigan is seeking a part-time CDL bus driver to provide safe transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and maintains a clean driving record in line with LifeWise beliefs.

The role requires a CDL with a passenger endorsement and school bus endorsement if possible, with mandatory background checks and drug testing. Training and classroom volunteering may be available to support students.

Qualifications

• Mature Christian faith in agreement with LifeWise beliefs.
• Active participation in a local church whose doctrine aligns with LifeWise beliefs.
• CDL license with endorsement for driving a passenger vehicle (P) is required.
• School bus endorsement (S) preferred.
• Age 21-80; annual CDL license and endorsement verification for those over 75.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or citations in 5 years.
• Background check and drug/alcohol testing as required by LifeWise Academy.
• Medical statements may be requested for drivers with known conditions.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws and maintain bus cleanliness and mechanical safety.
• Perform regular bus inspections and refuel as needed.
• Create and maintain a safe environment for children and enforce safety rules.
• Assist students with entering or exiting the bus and monitor behavior.
• Complete training required by LifeWise Academy.
• Volunteer in LifeWise classroom if approved by the director.
