Job summary

LifeWise Academy in Michigan seeks a LifeWise CDL bus driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for public school students to and from the LifeWise site. The ideal candidate is responsible, punctual, and committed to a faith-aligned community.

Responsibilities include transporting students and volunteers, obeying traffic laws, maintaining bus safety and cleanliness, inspecting, refueling, and creating a secure environment. Classified as Non-Exempt (Hourly), Employment Type: Part-Time.

Qualifications

• CDL with passenger vehicle endorsement (P) required.
• School bus (S) endorsement preferred.
• Age 21–80.
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations in the last five years.
• Background check and drug/alcohol testing required.
• Annual physician's statement for known medical conditions as applicable.
• Active participation in a local church aligned with LifeWise beliefs.
• Must have continuously licensed CDL for past three years.
• Drivers above 75 must submit license copy with endorsement annually.

Responsibilities

• Transport children and LifeWise volunteers to and from the LifeWise site.
• Obey traffic laws.
• Maintain cleanliness and mechanical safety of the bus.
• Perform regular inspections of the bus.
• Refuel the vehicle as needed.
• Create a safe environment for children and enforce safety rules.
• Assist students entering/exiting the vehicle and monitor behavior.
• Complete required LifeWise Academy training.
• Volunteer in the LifeWise classroom if approved by the director.
