Job summary

Suffolk County Community College seeks an Adjunct Professional Assistant for the Student Technology Center. This part-time role supports students and faculty with software, hardware, LMS access, and classroom technology in a busy campus environment.

You will assist with Microsoft 365, cloud storage, and college portals, while maintaining a professional, confidential, and helpful presence. Prior IT support experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in CS/Engineering/Instructional Tech or closely related field.
• OR Associate degree with 2+ years of help desk or customer service experience.
• Familiarity with Windows/Mac, LMS, browsers, and basic hardware problems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist users with Microsoft Office applications, including formatting, formulas, and charts.
• Support students in downloading, organizing, and storing materials on devices or cloud storage.
• Troubleshoot basic hardware and software issues on Student Tech Center computers.
• Provide Tier 1 support for classroom tech and ITSM help desk requests.
• Help with LMS access, course materials, submissions, and information retrieval.
• Assist with wireless network connections and software installations on personal devices.
