Job summary

SUNY Cortland is seeking a student employee to assist with campus computer services, helping with problem solving, equipment delivery and pickup, and basic IT support.

The role includes simple installations and updates on user computers, equipment moves, inventory management, and front-desk clerical duties such as answering calls and maintaining records; no prior computer knowledge required, but a willingness to learn is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be a current SUNY student.
• No experience necessary!

Responsibilities

• Visit college employees for problem solving or equipment delivery/pickup.
• Perform simple installations and updates on user’s computers.
• Assist with computer equipment moves.
• Maintain complete inventory of computers and related hardware.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve simple hardware and software requests received via walk in, phone, or ticket.
• Performs routine clerical work; answer and attend to telephone calls; maintain records, operate office machines (such as copiers), sort and distribute mail.
