Job summary

BRISTOL PUBLIC SCHOOLS is hiring a Paraeducator at Stafford Elementary School to assist in small group and individual pupil instruction under the supervision of a special education teacher. The role supports classroom activities, discipline, and IEP implementation while ensuring student safety and engagement.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, with two years of college credit or an associate degree or completion of the Parapro Assessment.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED; two years college credit or associate degree; or Parapro Assessment.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short memos and basic correspondence.
Math skills: add/subtract, basic money, weight, volume and distance units.
Computer skills: basic knowledge and experience with job related software.

Responsibilities

Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and with instructional activities.
Escort students between rooms and supervise recess/lunch.
Assist with IEP implementation and prepare instructional materials.
Perform light lifting and assist with classroom setup and paperwork.
