Job summary

Bristol Public Schools is hiring a 1:1 Paraeducator at Stafford Elementary School to support individual and small-group instruction under the guidance of a special education teacher.

You will assist with classroom activities, help manage behavior, and support students with IEP goals, while working with both special education and general education staff in a dynamic school environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; two years of college credit or an associate's degree, or completion of a paraprofessional assessment.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos, and to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instruction under the direction of the special education teacher.
• Assist teacher in maintaining discipline and in instructional activities.
• Escort students between rooms and supervise during recess and lunch.
• Involves work with both special education and regular students; assist with IEP implementation.
