Job summary

Columbia State Community College is seeking a College Success Advisor & Retention Technology Specialist to coordinate advising technology, manage data collection, and support student success through data-informed strategies. The role requires on-campus presence at the Columbia TN campus, with collaboration across advising staff and IT.

You will supervise student workers, lead implementation of case management and retention tools, provide training, monitor labs, and develop dashboards and reports

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Education, or related field.
• At least 2 years of professional tech management or educational tech experience.
• Experience with advising technology platforms (Slate, Navigate, Degree Works) and academic advising.
• Experience in student services or postsecondary environment.
• Strong data analytics and reporting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Advise a caseload of students, including at-risk learners, for academic planning and transfer help.
• Lead advising technology implementation, optimization, and data reporting.
• Monitor Charger Center labs to ensure hardware/software function.
• Manage and train student workers and respond to inquiries via email/phone.
• Collaborate with faculty, Enrollment Services, and IT to coordinate initiatives.
• Develop dashboards and reports to inform departmental strategy.
• Ensure FERPA compliance and data privacy across systems.
