Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks a Student Success Advisor to provide information on academic success and career guidance, supporting student retention and progress. The role includes case management for at-risk students and coordinating with campus resources.

Responsibilities cover advising, transfer guidance, financial aid basics, and outreach plans. Proficiency with CRM systems and data-informed interventions is expected. Position may serve Cookeville or Livingston campuses as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and one year of related experience assisting students.
• Master’s degree preferred for advancement.
• Experience with Banner or student information systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic advising and career advising to students in individual and group settings.
• Assist students with major selection using assessments, tools and resources.
• Guide students through transfer processes and program articulation.
• Monitor academic progress and outreach to keep students on track.
• Explain financial aid options and satisfactory academic progress requirements.
• Refer students to retention resources and campus services.
• Manage personalized communications plans via CRM workflows.
