Job summary

Columbia State Community College is seeking a College Success Advisor to provide holistic student support, intrusive academic advising, and outreach to new students. You will guide students through onboarding, enrollment, advisement, and related processes across campuses in Williamson County, Lewisburg, and Columbia.

The role requires a bachelor's degree (master’s preferred) with experience in advising, student services, and counseling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Experience in academic advising preferred.
• Experience in student services or teaching in a post-secondary setting.
• Experience in academic or career counseling preferred in a post-secondary setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with onboarding, application and admissions.
• Serve as primary academic advisor, coach and mentor for a caseload.
• Assist with career exploration and selecting an academic major.
• Develop academic plans for timely completion with interventions as needed.
• Help students access resources for academic, financial and personal support.
• Maintain detailed records of student interactions and track interventions for at-risk students.
• Maintain flexible advisement schedule (in-person or virtual).
• Collaborate with faculty and staff on support components.
• Assist with Admissions, Financial Aid requirements and SAP Appeals.
• Promote visibility of the Student Success Coach.
• Collaborate on individual student success strategies with faculty advisors.
• Participate in specialized training.
• Maintain currency of advising information in publications.
• Support the Director of First Year Experience in developing plans and monitoring progress.
• Monitor curricular changes and impact on completion goals.
• Assist in data-informed retention planning for at-risk students.
• Support development and oversight of programs that drive enrollment and graduation growth.
