Job summary

City Year is seeking an entry-level Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across elementary, middle and high school. You will coach, mentor, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers to improve attendance and academic outcomes.

This AmeriCorps position includes hands-on training, a living stipend, and opportunities to impact students and communities through volunteer service and education programs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a tutor/mentor is helpful but not required.
• Willingness to participate in AmeriCorps service and complete training.
• Ability to work with diverse student groups.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills through varied activities.
• Create and implement behavior strategies to support student learning.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress and engage families.
• Assist in planning and delivering after-school and enrichment activities.
