Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member supports students across elementary to high school with coaching and mentoring to help academic success, improve attendance and behavior. You plan and monitor progress and work with teachers on in-class support.

Training is provided; you may participate in extended day and after-school programming, enrichment, and leadership development initiatives in a collaborative school setting.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Agree to and complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math skills with varied activities.
• Create and implement a behavior management system.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor progress.
