Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to achieve academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors in schools. You’ll plan and monitor progress, work with teachers on in-class support, and contribute to engaging learning environments.

Training is provided, with benefits and a living stipend. This is an entry-level, full-time AmeriCorps term starting in mid-2025, offering meaningful service and community impact in U.S. schools.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to academic success and positive behaviors.
• Plan and monitor progress and collaborate with teachers.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and math skills with varied activities.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress in City Year’s data system.
• Support school-wide initiatives and engagement with families.
