Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary to high school settings. You will plan and monitor individual progress, support teachers, and help students improve attendance, literacy and math skills through structured activities.

Training is provided at the start of the program, with ongoing support throughout the year. Eligible candidates will participate in AmeriCorps benefits, health coverage options, a bi-weekly stipend and relocation assistance

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required or equivalent.
• Some college experience or college degree preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math development through varied activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor progress and adapt plans.
• Create a positive, engaging classroom environment with teachers.
