Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking entry-level, paid full-time Student Success Coach and Mentor to support students across different school levels. This role includes coaching, mentoring, and collaborating with teachers to improve attendance and academic outcomes.

We provide 2–4 weeks of training and ongoing support from partner teachers and school staff. Eligible candidates are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, aged 17–25 by July 1, 2025, with a GED or diploma and some college experience.

Qualifications

• Experience not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at the start of the year.
• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident (DACA status not eligible).
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025; GED or high school diploma, some college, or a college degree.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers with in-class instruction.
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces and collaborate with staff on student data and progress reviews.
• Support school initiatives, extend learning through after-school and virtual programming, and recognize student achievements.
