City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, helping them achieve academic success and better attendance. Training is provided, and you’ll work with teachers and school staff to support students daily.

Responsibilities include 1:1 mentoring, small group literacy/math activities, behavior management, and collaboration on student progress data. Opportunities for enrichment programs and family engagement are offered.

Qualifications

• Citizenship or permanent residency required (U.S.)
• Age 17–25 by July 1, 2025
• GED/high school diploma, some college, or degree
• No more than three AmeriCorps terms
• Background check and start by July/August 2025

Responsabilités

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Support literacy and math development with varied activities
• Establish and monitor student progress with teachers
• Create a positive, safe classroom space with teachers
• Support after-school and extended-day programs and student clubs
• Participate in data collection and reviews of student progress
