Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary, middle, and high school to help them achieve academic success, improve attendance and develop positive school behaviors. You’ll plan and monitor individual progress and support teachers with classroom instruction and student assistance.

You will receive 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and work alongside partner teachers and school staff throughout the year, with benefits including health, dental and vision

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor identified students 1:1 and in small groups
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress and data
• Contribute to extended day and after-school programs and events
