Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member in Barnstead, NH, supports students through coaching and mentoring to boost academic success and attendance. You will work with teachers to deliver small-group instruction and targeted student assistance, planning progress and monitoring outcomes.

Training provided for 2-4 weeks; you'll join a team of AmeriCorps members, participating in school-based activities and community engagement while earning a bi-weekly living stipend and AmeriCorps benefits.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Eligible to work in the U.S. and 17–25 by start date.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Support literacy and math skills with varied activities.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space in partnership with teachers.
