Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior. You’ll work with teachers on classroom activities and targeted student support, developing literacy and math skills while fostering a positive school environment.

Entry-level, full-time role with AmeriCorps benefits, and a focus on service in local schools in New Hampshire. Training provided at start of service year.

Qualifications

• Be a City Year AmeriCorps member focusing on coaching and mentoring elementary to high school students.
• Experience in teaching environments is not required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Strong interpersonal skills to support students, teachers, and families.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress and support teachers in class activities.
• Support broader school initiatives and after-school programs for student engagement.
