Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to improve academics, attendance, and behavior, with elementary to high school coverage.

You will plan and monitor individual progress, work with teachers on in-class support, and help create engaging, safe learning spaces.

No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training at start, ongoing coaching, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training provided.
• Must be eligible to serve in AmeriCorps.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group coaching to identified students.
• Develop literacy and math activities tailored to each student.
• Support teachers with classroom instruction and data collection.
• Assist with behavior management and student engagement.
• Collaborate with staff to monitor student progress and participate in reviews.
• Create a safe, engaging learning environment in partnership with teachers.
