Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps Member serves as a full-time, entry-level role dedicated to coaching and mentoring students to boost academic success. Training is provided at the start of the year, with ongoing collaboration with teachers and school staff to support individualized student progress.

Members participate in school-wide initiatives, enrichment programs, and data-driven reviews, gaining valuable service experience while making a positive impact in classrooms and communities.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students across grade levels
• Plan and monitor student progress with teachers
• Support literacy and math development
• Create engaging, safe classroom environments
• Collaborate with school staff to track data and impact

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups
• Support literacy and math activities tailored to each student
• Assist teachers during instruction and small-group work
• Help create a positive behavior management system
• Assist with data collection and progress reviews with city year data system
• Contribute to school-wide engagement events and programs
