Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students in elementary, middle and/or high school to improve academics, attendance and positive behaviors. You will plan and monitor progress and work with teachers on instructional activities.

Experience is not required as training is provided; a living stipend, health benefits, relocation assistance and scholarship opportunities are part of City Year benefits.

Qualifications

• Citizen or legal permanent resident; authorization to work in the U.S.
• 17-25 by July 1, 2025
• GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree
• No more than three AmeriCorps terms
• Background check clearance
• Available to begin by July/August 2025

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success
• Plan and monitor individual student progress
• Collaborate with teachers on instruction
• Support extended day and virtual programming
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces
