Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to earn academic success, improve attendance, and develop positive behaviors at school. You will plan and monitor individual progress and work with teachers on in-class supports.

Training is provided (2–4 weeks) at the start of the year, and you will collaborate with partner teachers and staff every step of the way to help students thrive and prepare for the future.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Eligibility: U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• GED or high school diploma; some college or degree preferred; max three AmeriCorps terms.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to achieve academic success and improve attendance.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers on class instruction.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space in collaboration with teachers.
• Support extended day and virtual programming before, during and after school.
