Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, helping them achieve academic success and develop positive behaviors. The role emphasizes partnering with teachers to support class instruction and targeted student progress.

No prior experience is required; City Year provides 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year, plus ongoing collaboration with school staff to ensure student success.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided.
• Support academic coaching and interpersonal development for students.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to monitor student progress.

Responsibilities

• Work with identified students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math skills with varied activities by student level.
• Create and implement a behavior management system for students.
• Collaborate with teachers to collect, record, analyze and monitor student progress.
