Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps is seeking an entry-level student success coach and mentor to support school communities. You will coach and mentor students, track progress, and collaborate with teachers to support academic achievement and positive behavior.

Training is provided. No prior experience required beyond a strong desire to help students succeed; you will participate in 2-4 weeks of training and join a dedicated team of educators and City Year staff.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma, some college experience, or college degree.
• Willingness to participate in 2-4 weeks of training at start of year.
• Ability to work with teachers and students.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers.
• Support literacy and math activities and behavior development.
• Collaborate with teachers to create engaging classroom spaces.
