Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to help them achieve academic success and better attendance. You will work with teachers to support instruction, monitor progress and implement behavior strategies.

Training is provided at the start of the year, and you’ll collaborate with school staff throughout the term. As a City Year AmeriCorps member, you’ll support a range of initiatives in classrooms and after-school programs, fostering student growth in literacy, math and leadership

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students to improve academic success and attendance
• Plan and monitor individual student progress with teachers
• Support literacy and math skill development through varied activities
• Create engaging, safe classroom spaces in collaboration with teachers
• Assist with after-school programs, clubs, and leadership development
