Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in elementary to high schools, providing academic support, improving attendance and behavior, and working with teachers on in-class instruction and student progress.

New members receive 2–4 weeks of initial training and work with partner teachers throughout the year to support school initiatives and student growth.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025.
• Complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Collaborate with teachers on instruction and in-class supports.
• Support after-school and virtual programming for student engagement.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom space with teachers.

Education
