Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as student success coaches and mentors in local schools, focusing on elementary to high school students. You will help students earn academic progress, improve attendance, and build positive behaviors through daily coaching and in-class support.

You will work with teachers to plan activities, monitor progress, and participate in school-wide initiatives that engage families and foster a safe, welcoming learning environment.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students to improve academic outcomes.
• Support attendance and behavior improvements.
• Collaborate with teachers to support whole-class instruction.

Responsibilities

• Coach 1:1 and small groups to boost literacy and math.
• Plan activities and monitor individual student progress.
• Create a positive, engaging classroom environment with teachers.
